Season-high win streak at 4; 'Stangs take down Ridge Point

The Friendswood boys’ basketball team edged Fort Bend Ridge Point, 48-41, while the Lady Mustangs also downed Ridge Point, 65-34, in District 24-4A basketball games Friday night.

Each team won their fourth straight district game to enhance their playoff position.

The Lady Mustangs led 29-16 at halftime and 43-28 entering the third quarter. Jill Bergeson led Friendswood with 13 points and Skylar Murphy scored 10.

The Friendswood boys had a tougher time, leading just 9-7 through one quarter, 23-15 at the break and 32-27 entering the fourth quarter.

Ryan Teel, Will Hibbs and Quinton Mertz each scored 10 points to pace the Mustangs.
