Mustang Diary with Kevin Wilson

For this installment of Mustang Diary we touch base with 2011 FHS graduate and current Millsaps College freshman, Kevin Wilson:

Hey Friendswood friends,
School started back up today (January 17th) and it is a very bittersweet feeling. Having basketball all day every day was really getting to me, so it’s really good to get a break. I think my classes will challenge me this semester but I will be able to keep up my GPA. I am taking Cal 2, Stats, and Heritage. I miss high school because the first day of class is all about learning names and just hanging out. College is completely different; we just jumped into things in both of my classes today. My grades were good enough this past semester to get out of basketball study hall which I am very excited about.
Basketball has not been going too well at the 'Saps (short for Millsaps). We are now 6-9 and doing terrible in conference. We hope to turn it around this weekend at home. We have been traveling the past couple of weeks and it has been exhausting to say the least. Our school is having a "White Out" this Friday for our game and it’s going to be intense. Hendrix is one of our opponents this weekend and I am nervous about how that is going to go because they recruited me heavily and I got very close to the coaching staff. I have been getting a good amount of playing time for a freshman which I am happy about, however my coach is very over-the-top and making me question my basketball future. I took a nasty fall this past weekend but I passed all the concussion tests so I’m fine. I just couldn’t move my back for a couple days.
Take Care.
