Although all 150+ kids who attended the camp left with a better understanding of the game of basketball their were 8 campers (4 from the morning session; 4 from the afternoon) who took home awards for their efforts this week. Those awards are as follows:
Most Valuable Camper (MVC) - Goes to the young man who not only performs at or near the top of the camp physically but also to someone who accepts direction from the coaching staff while displaying an outstanding attitude toward their fellow campers.
3-D Award (Desire, Determination & Dedication) - Goes to the camper who gave maximum effort no matter what the drill. Whether taking part in a half court defensive drill or competing in a full court game, this young man gave everything he had every single day of the camp.
Hot Shot Champion - This award goes to the camper with the highest 4-day totals on Hot Shot. Hot Shot is a game where 5 spots are laid out on the floor and campers must hit a shot from each spot before finally starting over after the first shot. Each shot is worth 2 points and the campers were given 45-seconds to amass as many points as possible.
Layup Champion - Each camper is given 45-seconds to make as many left and right-handed layups as possible.
