'Stang Diary with Nolan Harvey

For this installment of 'Stang Diary we check in with 2011 FHS grad and current freshman basketball player at the University of Texas - Dallas, Nolan Harvey.

"We've had two scrimmages so far against Tarleton State and Southwestern.  Tarleton was a fun game to play in, because is reminded me of those up-tempo games against a La Marque or Ball team.  I got a solid 5 minutes of playing time and finished with 5 points, ipso facto: I score 40 points in a 40 minute game.  I tried to plead my case to the coach to see if I could get some more playing time, but we didn't share the same reasoning.

Four days later we traveled to Georgetown, Texas and whipped up on Southwestern University, who are in Millsaps conference.  They might've had more people under 5'8" than our 7th grade B team.  However, their appearance was deceiving as they were very fundamental and were able to hang with us for a few minutes.

Our first game is this Tuesday against the University of Dallas.  I'm hoping to get some significant playing time in the second half, once we secure a large lead."
